Doha Asian Games
After the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, the venue owners, Aspire Zone, looked to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the Games by having the Cauldron re-lit in a new location adjacent to Khalifa Stadium where the Cauldron originally stood.
Live Element was asked to inspect the Cauldron burner, control and fuel system and make the required changes needed to make the control system safe to use as an unsupervised effect. This required a complete re-design and re-wire of the control system and some changes to the fuel system as well as the burner element itself.
Pipework and cabling specifications were provided by Live Element enabling the installation of this equipment by local contractors under our supervision while we re-configured the control and fuel systems.
Our personnel completed the final terminations and functional testing before final commissioning. Once commissioned, Live Element provided operator training sessions to ensure the Cauldron could be handed over to competent operators for its continued use.
Live Element had our operators on-site for the “unveiling” to ensure the Cauldron’s re-ignition was a spectacular success.
