2010 Adelaide Festival
Program Launch

The 2010 Adelaide Festival of Arts required a set of flaming hearts to be the finale of their 2010 Program Launch.

Given the scale by the Festival’s in-house creative genius Geoff Cobham, Live Element set about prototyping and developing the burner design needed to give an even flame around each heart. Live Element also designed a manually-operated fuel and control system that made the effect safe to burn indoors.

Once the design was finalised, we consulted with the local Statutory Authorities for firing approval and LPG storage licensing at the venue, and assisted with the Fire Department with their safety auditing processes. This enabled a hassle free approval process for the Festival itself and the Adelaide Festival Centre. Live Element provided the operators for the rehearsals and shows ensuring the hearts burned perfectly every time.
